2 Seat Comp Extreme Chassis (2CX)

This chassis is designed to be as small and strong as possible while still staying front engine and "technically" being class legal for most WE-Rock classes by having 2 seats and a 48" wide chassis but bending those rules as much as possible. It's not designed to be a spacious super comfortable all day trail car, it's designed for those that want the maximum performance out of a trail car and are willing to sacrifice extra space, comfort of suspension seats, a big fuel cell, etc. I will give you fare warning, this car will be difficult to build, there is not extra space anywhere, it is not an ideal chassis for the first-time buggy builder. If you are ok with that and are willing to put in the extra effort it will be worth it for the performance and size gains compared to most 2 seat trail cars.

You will need to run Kirkey, Sparco, PRP composite, or similar hard shell race seat and heavily modify the passenger seat to go around the transfer case. There will still be room for a small adult to fit into the passenger seat when done, but it's not ideal for all day trail comfort, it's meant to pass tech, or hold a cooler and a tool bag on the trail.

44” wide chassis at the rockers and A-Pillar, 48" wide at the door bars for extra elbow room and to remain class legal for WE Rock classes that require at 48" chassis. 

2" slanted belly, which means your drive train sits level and the belly slopes up from the front of the chassis (under your oil pan) all the way to back following the drivetrain angle. This allows you to have 2" more breakover belly clearance at the chassis side rear lower link mounts while still maintaining the lower center of gravity of your drivetrain mounted 2" lower. To put this into perspective, you can have a 20" belly under your engine oil pan, and a 22" belly under your rear lower link mounts which is where you need the extra clearance for breakovers. This slanted belly also helps to slide the car forward when you are stuck on the belly as it's not flat.

Chassis is specifically designed for Ford Ecoboost turbo 4cyl motors (1.6l, 2.0l, 2.3l) mounted to a C4 transmission with an Advance Adapters super short Atlas adapter to a Dana 300 or Atlas transfer case and 9"/JHF Portal axles. We have a supplier for custom Bellhousings and converters to adapt the EcoBoost to the C4 transmission, contact for info. You can try and make other turbo 4cyl motors fit if you'd like, but I'd highly recommend a motor with driver side intake and passenger side exhaust ports. A transmission other than a C4 will also be tough to fit as the only other option would be a 904 with a JHF super shorty adapter, but the trans pan is twice as wide as the C4 and might cause interference with the subframe tubes.

Chassis are all 1.75x.120 DOM main tubes with 1.25x.120 inner support bars, subframe and rockers are 1.75x.188

Chassis is designed to run 2.5x16" Air shocks on all 4 corners. 18” stroke shocks can be made to fit front and rear, but a lot more effort will be required to get everything to clear.

Designed to run 9"/JHF Portals, 68-70” WMS is recommended.

Designed for a 110” WB.

Plenty of clearance for 50* of front and rear steering.

With running hard shell seats, head room "should" be adequate for people in the 6'-6'2" height range depending on torso vs leg length. Some people have very long torsos and short legs, some people are opposite, and some are average. This is just a rough estimate based on current customers that have sat in many of my chassis.

Each DIY kit is CNC cut, bent, and etched with part numbers and outlines of tube junctions.

Instructions included to assemble without a jig and just a large flat surface to build off of.

DIY kit only includes bare DOM chassis tubes, full assembly and welding required, additional tab kits for links/shocks/fuel cell/body panels/etc are available for purchase separately. Assembled and welded pictures are for reference only.

All DIY chassis kits ship flat rate freight shipping to your local terminal for you to pickup for $600 ($400 for freight + $200 for custom crate and packaging). These are too large for liftgate service to residential, you MUST be able to pickup at your local shipping terminal or have a commercial address with a loading dock and forklift.

Each kit is made to order, as such it will take 4-6 weeks to schedule and get produced at the CNC shop and then 1-2 weeks for freight shipping. These are estimates though and it could be shorter or longer.
